A man's success is measured by what he leaves behind,
My Dad was a success, strong, yet gentle and kind,
He was married to my mum for over forty years,
They supported each other through laughter and tears.
He was a family man who cared for us and gave us his all,
He raised two daughters to stand strong, proud and tall,
He taught us to think, speak out, take risks, and to take a stand,
Even though I,m grown up now, I still need him to hold my hand.
He was a friend to many people and went out of his way,
To make sure they always had a better day,
When the time came to leave this earthly place,
He did so quietly, with dignity and grace.
